I went looking for a friend on the List of users and discovered that in 238 pages of names it was page 92 before I found the beginning of those who had posted at least one post. So there's 146 pages of members who have never posted. (I have my lists from 'most posts' down to 'no posts')
My only comment is they don't know what they're missing.
And yes, I did remember there was an easier way of finding a friend. I found her.
I get the feeling you've gotta be a bit of an extrovert to be a poster. The non-posters are probably terrified hehe. And I can't say I blame the poor buggers. The posters are a pretty scary lot.

I'm certainly not an extrovert, I'm really quite shy.
I don't think you have to be an extrovert to post on this forum. I'm not. I think you just need to have something to say - and be accepting of all points of view. We (yes, my hubby doesn't post but he still hears what's happening) both enjoy this forum and all the info we get from it - and can occasionally give.
Another thought is if we all were like the none posters who are members on here, there would not be a Grey Nomads site,as I sure as hell wouldn't want to be logging on here to find a blank page or posts from seven years ago.
I realise some members would have passed away or sold their RV and brought a push bike or what ever.So one really can never get a true number count.

A thought - if I may. It is obvious that the number of members who have not posted or ceased after their initial post is a concern or at least a curiosity to a number of us?!
For me it was a curiosity so I went back and checked out several members who have only posted a couple of times over several years and not recently. Many it appears, post initially just to say hello and then again to say goodbye, we're on our way. Why not be a welcoming GN and send a quick email or post to them to check in ..... ie, "how was your first trip? are you back home yet? would be interested in how it went and where you stayed?"
I thought reaching out to people is what we are all about. Perhaps instead of competing to see how many posts we each have to our credit, it would be more productive to see how many members you can reactivate by reaching out to the silent majority?? We are made up of a vast array of personalities which for some could be a bit intimidating.
Personally I think you are all great and try to contribute where I feel I can
Just a thought .....

I agree with you cahslib, but the only person with all of the email address is Cindy, some of us do have email address but Cindy has them all, so maybe when she has time it would be a good idea to boost forum numbers, but it could get too busy on here if everyone posted every day, one would not have the time to read all post.
We try to welcome new members every time we see a new post. There's just so many who never post. I guess we could PM them and say 'hello'. But there are pages and pages of them and they may never come back and find their PM anyway.
Yes it is a big task, but the idea is out there if anyone wants to "run with the ball" I wonder if there is a way to "bulk PM" members?? Maybe just too big a task to. Still would be interested to know from their perspective why they have chosen not to maintain communications. Maybe something in the GN times just to say "Hey - where are you hiding ..... "??
Thanks for listening anyway.
