Our trip has taken some unexpected turns and twists, but they say the journey is half the fun.
This up date is from on the way up to the Cape.
Pulled into Burke and wills road house for a breather. Not much has changed here since the last time I passed through a few years back.
We camped in the bush at 20 mile creek, about 30ks east of Normanton where we found a track off the H/Way leading into the bush as a service road for the Gulflander railway line.It was a top spot next to a lagoon where we watched the last array of bird life go about their business .A couple of Brogars were poking around the bank of the lagoon,it was awesome to see these towering birds up so close.
After the sun went down the green tree frogs came out to entertain us,they hidde in the Panonus plams next to a tank during the day.
Really just could of stayed here for like ever but ,next morning was up early as the stars out here are so bright it is like having a torch left on all night. At least one never need to worry about finding the tourch during the night to find their way to use the loo.
We are almost back to where this fantastic trip started from,we are staying with a mate for the next two days in Dysart.
Catch you on the next update ,I have had to write my travel notes on pieces of fish and chip wrapper (used I must say grease and all)

Sounds a great trip there Herbie, keep enjoying the playground and keep us up to date. I make notes in 'Notes' on my iPhone and that is linked to my 'Notes' on my iPad and if that fails I have a good old fashioned note book in the tug.
