Regarding search facility

Just wondering if others find the same problem. I went searching for a topic the other day and it said it had 17 matches but it only showed 5 of them and I could not see how to access the other 12 items. Anyone know how it can be overcome?

Had the same problem.

Could it be that there are 12 matches for your search inside 5 topics ?

Just a thought.

Its always been like that. No matter how many matches it says, you will only ever find 5. Not sure why but has never been any different that I know of.

I actually private messaged webmaster this week. It isn't a very sophisticated search engine, you can possibly get more if you use advanced search (to the right of search)

I had the same problem, the only thing that i can come up with is that there is a common word in the topics that came up and the words in the search.

And I have found it doesn't necessarily show the most recent threads that it comes up with.

You could use Google's Advanced Search feature, or you could specify the GN web site in the search box.

For example, here are the results of a search for "single axle trailer":

http://www.google.com.au/search?q=site%3Athegreynomads.activeboard.com+%22single+axle+trailer%22

Some browsers (eg Opera) allow you to create a customised search. Google also has the facility for customised searches. In fact some web sites use Google to search their own site rather than their own server based search engine.

I discovered that recently Ruth, had to go back a few pages to find what I was looking for. Frustrating. Someone suggested using google, as its capable of finding obscure stuff in many forums.
