In the middle of Darwin at the moment, and all the fire works are unbelievable. Put one fire out by our van from one that malfunctioned from across the road. On Sunday put another fire out not far away on the mown grass verge. It was mown very short but a cigarette butt or something had started it. There were dry palm tree leaves just through the fence.
On Saturday, put another fire out that was getting going in Litchfield NP.
Just heard the fire engines going past here.
To me its a no brainer to have fire works in the dry season like this.
The noise has been unbelievable! We are not used to such an event as we live in rural NZ and also crackers, or some of them, are no longer available in NZ.
The malfunctioning one actually shook the van when it exploded close by.
Glad to see you are on your way again. Litchfield Tourist park - last one before Nat.Park is run by Kiwis (Joe Haitana & family) from Raetihi - originally. Lovely place.
