Gerty, Myrtle has run like a dream the whole trip. I'm so pleased. She's gliding along enjoying the view. Fuel consumption has been excellent at 11 litres per 100 ks. Checked the oil this morning, all good. She's now paying me back for all the money I have spent on her. I wonder how much a new paint job would cost
Travel bug and I thought we'd win it last week, and we were going to share with you Marj. Obviously we didn't win or you would have heard about it by now.
Take care, as I know you will.

Sitting in the Mezzanine Cafe in wet and cold Forbes. Great food and a warm fire. The sun Will come out tomorrow. Will head to Grenfell to meet up. with Dawa. Only 60 - 70 ks from here. Then may go down through Young depending on the weather.
Now at Ariah Park after a comfortable trip through the country roads from Forbes. Stopped in Grenfell for a good chat with Dawa, sitting in front of her roaring fire while the cold wind whistled around outside. I'm amazed, I got fuel in Forbes. Couldnt believe it when he came out to fill the tank for me. A long time since I've seen that happen.

I've struck that in a couple of places too. Usually a small country town...Leyburn Qld comes to mind. Forbes is a big place isn't it?
Left Ariah Park this morning, now at Finley Showgrounds. $10 a nigh, not mentioned in Camps 7, but worth it. Plugged into power with hot showers a few feet away.. Tomorrow heading into Shepp to see a niece in rehab at the hospital. She came over from NZ early this year to see her son who is working on a farm in Katunga. The day she was to return to NZ she had a brain aneurysm. Has been in hospitals ever since from in a coma in Melb to now closer to her son. Shes in her 50 s and I haven't seen her since my husbands funeral in 1996. Shes from his side of the family. Lovely girl, will be sad to see her like this. I understand she is paralyzed down one side.
