thetford toilet water pump

hi smart people. I have a Thetford toilet c403 I think, When you press the flush button only a very small amount of ware comes from discharge pipe. can hear the pump run but a lot quieter than it was.

Cant seen to find out exactly where the pump is located and how to get to it. Seems like the  whole unit may have to be removed to find it. Anyone know where it is and how to access it. Any advice on what may be the trouble also welcome. TY

Perhaps the manual might provide some clues:

Hi Peter, couple of suggestions

1) If the toilet us under 5 years old, it should be covered by Thetford warranty. We recently spoke to them, they are very helpful over the phone.

2) Is this an issue only when using mains water, or only when using the caravan pump.  We find with ours, that when we are on mains (in rural areas) that there is not enough pressure to squirt around the bowl

3) don't think that the thetford actually has the pump, the pump is your van

But try Thetford direct (you can get their phone number of the web), we rang them, in Sydney I think

Peter, have you got water in the tanks? Ours can only flush using our van water supply, not mains when connected. Also if your pump runs dry it will be quieter so I believe you may need to fill your water tank/s and let the pump prime. I have spoken with Thetford over the issue of not being able to flush the toilet off the mains when connected but was told unfortunately that is how it is. Hope that helps.

Agree with previous post that it is the motorhome water pump not the toilet, as most toilets these days don't have pumps.
