Hi people, We are moving up from a camper trailer to a very small pop top and want to know what is available out there. We would like the advantages of the camper trailer with the advantages of a pop top and island bed. That is 12-13ft, island bed. Dirt road capable. We tried the 'search' button here, but to no avail.
The Coromal M401 XC and the Jayco StarCraft 13, both fit the bill, Does another manufacturer make one like this too. Just looking for more options if we cant find one when we want it.
I had a 401 not the XC though. It was great, even the rear door didn't worry me. It was tight to squeeze around the bed if it was extended but I didn't need the extra length. Cheers Julie
Hi Guys, Thank you. We are surprised that what we are after are not more common. We thought that, that size would be more popular. The 'hybrid' style camper/van seems to be a rapidly growing niche, but only at the top end of the market and bigger units it seems.
The manufacturers of smaller Pop Tops make quite a few with island double beds, but most are are probably single beds as they provide a lot more space in the van. With a double bed there is just enough room to cook and sit 2 people at the tiny table. With very small vans say around 12' or less, then most only build single beds (Used as seats) with a fold down table between them. Ozjohn
