Hello every body;

                        Maybe a bit late but here goes, Well it finaly happened, my place of employment is no more, the boss decided to close the buisness down and after 18 odd years with the one company, i have been retrenched. After 18 odd years , ar  crap. Then i had i bit of a think about it ............. Lets take of for places un known !! Got my son and partner to look after the house, feed the dogs and cat and generaly look after the place ( i hope i don't come back to a party house ).

So i finish up on the 17- 05 -13 and on the 19 -05-13. We took off. We took a 4 week trip up to Alice Springs in October 2011 and enjoyed the trip and didn't whant to come back home, so THIS time we took off and headed up to Alice Springs, had a bit of a look around for a day or too and headed up the centre even further than before. Well this has been just one fantastic trip, the weather has been just perfect, and the further north we go the better it has become.

After leaving Alice Springs our first night was at the Devils Marbels and managed to get a full moon as well.  How good is this. Some of the photos of the rocks changing color, both in  the morning and at sun set well just breath taking. After a good night 's sleep, funny how every one's in bed by about 9.00Pm, we broke camp about 8.00 Am and drove on up to Daily Water for the night. Steak and Barra with salad , a couple of beer's. Good entertainment for the night and off to bedd after the last song, and again in bed by about 9.30Pm. Funny after driveing all day all you want is to go to bed early, when i'm at home it would be about 11.00PM be for i would even look like going to bed . The wife had gone about 1 hour befor me. But on the road, you can't keep your eyes open past 9.00pm.

Any way as a place to stop at Daily Water is as good as it gets , just a great outback pup.

Next day we left Daily water headed up and made katherine and again stoped for a few days, this life sure beats working . Any way the caravan park that we stayed at has a gate the leads to a parth and down to a nice cool spring that even in the dry season is very very nice place to recharge your batterys and just have a bit of a soak. You know you come out all wrinkled and even refreshed. Willing to take on the next adventure. So all good!!

After saying good by to katherine we again headed up noth and made our lunch time stop at Adelaide River and stoped and had a look at the war graves. Very moving ta say the least and the whole place is very well maintained, it realy is a credit to all of the staff that work there.

This trip is geting better and better as each day goes on. Saying good by to Adelaide  River we finally maid it in to Darwin and haveing booked for 10 nights there , we took some time to have a bit of a look around . Mindil Market was one of the high lights, if not fof the food but also for the sun set. If you are in to taking photo's and of sun sets on the beach, with a good digital camera you will not be disapointed with you photo's. The food is pretty good if that is you also like, and also the market has a number af stalls that sell just about every thing.

Some of the other things that we have done while we were up in Darwin, one was a open bus trip to the Litchfield Natonal Park. and this trip took alll day and well worth the money 3 waterfalls and places to have a bit of a swim in, just fantastic. The wife and my self also did a few of the tourist things, the museum. and the military museum, o' and must not forget the air craft museum that even had a B52 bommer under the hanger ( bloody big hanger ). Yes Darwin has a lot of things to do once you have made it up to here. The last night Darwin say us on at sunset cruise on the harbour and the had tea at Stokes Walf.

Sorry to see Darwin go?? But we had to push off and head over to kakadu and we are at currently at one of thje caravan parks in Jabiru and have had a couple of day's here. we have been to Ubirr rock and more phot's of sunsets and again just breath taking. The pool os looking good at the moment and to morrow we will brake camp again and head off down to Yellow Water for a early boat cruise and start of the trip back dowm south .
