Have you considered speaking to the local dept of transport and employing one of their inspectors to run it over the pits?
I know it'll cost a couple of $100 but gives you peace of mind about the roadworthyness of the vehicle, also they could take some photographs for you of the vehicle not shown by the seller.
Just a thought, good luck.

You could get a pre purchase inspection from the NRMA or there are others who do so as well. With NRMA it would have to go to a Motorserve centre. Gosford is a large place so likely has one nearby. Good luck, I hope it works out for you.
Thanks for that. We thought the mechanical check wouldnt be a prob but were more worried about the camper side of things. The young guy at the sales place says he cant find the house battery and a few other things weve asked, so without seeing it ourselves were a bit loathe to make an offer. Weve had dealings before with people who give inaccurate advice due to lack of knowledge but are starting to assume the bus is a power only type with no grey tanks etc? . As newbies were not entirely sure if it would be cost prohibitive to buy it and do some of the work ourselves such as add house battery re wire , solar panels etc, if what he says is indeed correct..
There is a place at Ourimbah quite close to Gosford who converts MHs called Macron Campers. He might be worth a call to ask if he knows of anyone who could take a look for you. Someone who knows what to look for. He seems a nice bloke, good reputation.
