Hi Everyone,

As quite a few of you know my mother suffered with Alzheimer's Disease for some 8 years after massive heart surgery in 2005. She passed away peacefully on Saturday (25th May) evening, and is now reunited with my father who passed away in 2008.

Alzheimer's is a terrible condition that robs people of their parents even before that parent passes away and often at too young an age. My thoughts are with you at this very sad time.

Know what you are going through.
Both my in-laws had it. In my mother in laws case.
She had early onset dementia. Came on in her early 50's.
Only ever knew one of her Grandchildren.
So sad for all concerned
My thoughts are with you

Our sympathy too pejay but I would say it has been a 'long goodbye' not a sudden one if your Mum had dementia. We are experiencing it with my Dad now. I'm glad you see it as a reunion for your Mum and Dad.

I am taking care of my beautiful parents who both have dementia. Its so hard to see them slipping away from me.
