What A Shame

Funny that ,but so true. Maybe it is not such a good idea to have compititons on a forum such as this.if just old members are only allowed to enter any compition that is run on here.

Yendorane you are welcome to post in the comp as far as I'm concerned. I note you've been a member for a while. It was a great shot.

I actually thought there had been only a few new posters this time. I think if a member has been around a while but hasn't posted very often they are still welcome to take part in the competition.

Everytime there is a new photo competition, all these 1st time members post a photo and then we never see or hear from them again............

Hi all,

Yesterday i was going to introduce myself to this great forum starting with the easiest option (photo) first as i am not a fast typer

so after i posted the photo, i received a phone call from my brother in law saying that my mother had a accident in which one finger was severed & one beside

it mangled,so after talking with family for a while, she was driven to the Bundaberg hospital from Monto. On returning to the forum to finish my introduction i was not impressed on comments made, hence my short reply last night.A report from my sister at midnight last night is that she is going to surgery this morning to either amputate or try & save the one & repair the other. So not a good night.

I,m sorry if i offended anyone by entering the competition on my first post, but i have been reading some good info here in the last 12 months & the only reason i have for not posting anything is i have not traveled as yet so, i don't know enough to comment on anything as yet.Just received a up date she is going to loose the middle finger at the first knuckle. So not good for her bowling hand.I am going on my 1st trip next month to Rainbow beach for 5 days & then out to Dickabram bridge for a few days & then to Paradise Dam for a few more days before heading home to Boyne Island via a mate at Apple Tree creek.

In the mean time i will continue reading.

Cheers Yendorane

Really sorry to hear about your mother's hand Yendorane. Hope she recovers quickly. She'll now have to adjust to her new circumstances.

I'm kind of a bit like you in that I don't want to post too much in case I'm seen as an un-travelled "know-it-all" so prefer to read through the posts and only comment on the ones I believe I have something to contribute too, but from what I've seen since joining the forum, the mob that congregates here are very decent people with common aims.

So read a while longer if you prefer and contribute when you feel like it. Your views and opinions will be welcomed. All the best for your trip to Rainbow Beach. I'll envy you as I sit near my heater and pretending that it's a nice, warm beach somewhere in this, our great land.

I am sure they are not talking about you Yenorane. I checked your profile and see you joined in August 2012. What gets people is new members who join after the start of the photo competition, win a prize and never seen again.

Hi Billeeeeeeeeee, When i wrote old OLD i was refering to the members who have been on here for a long time, you know not OLD in years OLD to this forum. I encourage more new members to join ,as it brings more new ideas to a forum such as this. I remember before this photo comp got started ,some said ( mentioned some thing regarding people only joining to post a pic and you never hear from them again or some thing to that effect ) and back then when i read it i thought well tough luck that's the way this foram is open to everyone.

So as for you being OLD Billeeee that will never happen to you.I recon you have more go in you than a 20 year old. And what's the old saying ..your only as old as you want to be...

Regards Herbie.

Yendorane. My best wishes for a quick recovery for your mother. As a old lawn bowler I wish her also a quick return onto the green. Hope she finds a good way to adapt to holding her bowl.

Welcome Yendorane, enjoy here and out in the playground.

Just a small word of warning though if I may, beware of wombat holes and don't get too dazzled by them and if you are lucky you might even see a Gypsy, however if you have been around for a while already it may be too late, I hope not.

Welcome Yendorane. Hope your mum comes out of this with a minimum of incapacity. People in your neck of the woods have had more than enough misfortune over recent months, more is not needed. I hope you enjoy Paradise Dam a lot more than I did (found it a total waste of the $16 / night for essentially no shade, no access to the water other than at the boat ramp & no fish or redclaw), Wuruna is a far better proposition in my opinion.

Darrell & Sandra

I agree with you on that Darrell. I've been out to Paradise Dam but not interesting in staying overnight at all. Much prefer Wuruma.

Dazren, you know that old saying self praise is no recommendation biggrinbiggrinwink.  You shouldn't scare the new members off or older members who love to read only which is what I have been doing lately lol.

In saying that Yendorane we really are a pretty decent bunch of people here on the forum.  I am also very sorry to hear about your Mum's hand and hope she recovers soon to be back onto the green bowling like a professional with her other hand.

Take care

Michelle

Yes Dazren Doug came and left this morning at about 8am.  Both Ray and I thought Doug may have stayed another day or two due to weather but he took a chance and headed out today.  It was great catching up again Doug and looking forward to seeing you on your return in a few months.  Have fun in the playground with your family Doug.
