Volunteering

Hi all

Well we took Herbies advice and when we arrived in Alice springs we went to the Transport Hall of Fame and offered to do volunteer work. We have been here for two weeks now and are enjoying it. There are several other couples here also so it makes for a good happy hour each day. The work is not difficult and I can recommend it to anyone wanting to make Alice their base and explore the sites around.

 Regards Rastas

Good to hear your enjoying your time in Alice, Just a beaut place to give something back to one of the better museums .A lot of hard work has gone into this gem of a place ,and the only way it can continue to grow is through people like your good self volunteering.

who is in charge of the scone making at present ????

As they say i will be back.

Regards Herbie.

Have this booked marked for when we travel into the Alice. Also of note is Blaze-Aid, in the horrible event that there may be more fires, like those recently in Tasmania

Transport has no borders.

Management makes the decisions, but is not affected by the decisions it makes.

Hi Rastas

That sounds great. If you volunteer do you get free camping on the site for the work you do?

It costs $20 a head per week to cover power, you only have to work 10 hrs per week tho

The cost to camp here is now $25.00 per person to pay for power and you do 14 hours work for a single person or 25 hours per couple. You work hours to suit yourself.

What if you don't need power ?
I do a lot of volunteering and found it gives me a purpose to travel and somewhere to head for.
I don't think I will every get that far north but I will be just past Wilpena Pound in a week or so and will be out there for about 3 months and then return south again.
Regards
Brian

Maybe an idea regarding not wanting power is to give them a buzz and ask.

Hi Rastas

Thanks for replying you see I'm off to the Beanie Festival and would like to volunteer for both. Do you think that they would like people around 19 June for a few weeks? Steve
