A lot of people just have a look, many read often, some join and never post. The number of us who posts is probably least. Its good to remember that we have so many visitors from the whole world, its quite humbling. Also good to remember for security and privacy reasons too.
Very true GD. That's one of the reasons not to put your actual address of phone number in sight. PM's are for that and then exchange emails or phone numbers then.

Dunno if it makes a big diff, but I often mention this forum and web site on my blog, and also have a link to it. I have a lot of viewers in the US and a few in Europe.

Totally agree Dougwe. Some of the lurkers are trawling for info like email addresses etc and other identifying info, especially cautious re overseas "lurkers".
However, that said, lots of unregistered users just might not see the benefits in registering on a site. Other than being able to communicate via the forum and PMs, what benefits are there in registering if you just want to read posts?
If people don't drop in for a look as visitors we probably wouldn't attract new members, I was a visitor only for some months checking the forum out before becoming a member.

We have always "Window Shopped" Forums for quite a while before dipping a toe in the water and then applying to join. When it seems a good even forum with stuff we enjoy then we ask to join. This forum seems to be really good with heaps of great topics and threads. Maybe lots of others are doing that now!
Be nice to meet people on the road as well. Oh for retirement times! Cheers - Mobi

I slowly realise as I get older that I am definitely NOT the fastest rat in the race.
Also the older I get the more I realise I do not know.
I found this site while searching for caravans. I'm glad I found it, I don't usually belong to anything, I'm very shy, but I feel I found somewhere I belong.
Bit the same way here, a "try before you buy" attitude. Saw GN's mentioned on another site and lurked until I saw thread I ha to comment on. Now a member and happy to be here.

No, I'm not busy, I did it right the first time.
Self-powered wheelie walker, soon a power chair (ex. Nomad)
Forget what attracted me to the GN site, but I'm glad I found it.
I obviously don't post all that often, but being on my own and on a property that keeps me very busy when I'm not working part time and sometime full time (as it has been lately) due to colleagues away on holidays, means I often only turn the Internet on to scan the news headlines, then off it goes so I can attend to chores.
With winter setting in, you'll probably see me about more often in the forums. I'll have to think of a good topic to post! I'd also like to catch up with some of you on the road, but probably not until Spring now. Too cold to venture far from my lovely, warm, wood heater

Not all guests are trolls or non members, I am a regular guest as I was this morning and not just this site...for some reason I often have to login as I have been logged off and I don't know until I go to reply or open an attachment which I don't do that often, so I am a guest more times than I realise? I also have 3 computers and an iPhone, it becomes a nuisance when it happens, which is not that often, but regular.

I myself become a guest when I use my mobile phone. I haven't worked out how to log in from my mobile, so I browse and catch up on the news when out without my laptop.
