Enough about talking of resizing pics etc,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, I vote we ban Spida for 7 dyas for posting a picture of her dinner on here,,
guilty of torture I say,,,,,,,,,,,ah my lips are watering
I agree with you, it should be a month for not inviting us to dinner
You can have them - were Ok but give me a NZ lobster anyday. One quick flick of the wrist and a whole succulent tail to feast on. I understand why they eat crab on its own here - takes so long to get the meat out that your stomach gives up in disgust after half an hour of nibbling and sends the message that it is full.
A great debate also re cooking. Some boiled whole, others split, cleaned and BBQ. BBQ seems a 'cleaner' method - no where near as much juice to deal with. Then eat them hot or cooled......

way2gokev Great photos of the sunset - twice. Did you not resize them? Love the sunrise/sets over here, especially after the sun has actually gone down - then the amazing stuff happens.
the other photos are fine. You will always get the little 'attachment' thumbnail as well as the big photos when you use 'insert'
You should be able to go back to the sunset photo, edit your post, click on one of the photos in the text and then delete it. Good practice

No worries Spida, maybe should go down to 30%, what you reckon?????? thanks mate for the input.
Cheers
Kev
Kev, it's not so much a case of using percentage reduction in size. When you are reducing pictures for forums look for a programme that will allow you to specify the size in pixels. Select 640 x 480 pixles for best effect in newsgroups.

I am having trouble downloading pic's onto the forum, the reason for me starting this thread. When I click on the attachment box under the GN message box, it starts to download then stops and won't go any further.
My photo's (already downsized and saved in "My Pictures") can be attached to emails to send to people, but cannot be downloaded to this forum, photobucket or image shack.
This problem seemed to coincide with the changed system on downloading pic's on GN, but now I am wondering if it might be my pc settings. About the same time as the changed system on GN, a Bigpond tech changed over my D'Link ADSL+2 Wireless modem router to a Bigpond one due to me having drop out problems with my pc via Bigpond and I suspect the settings may be the culprit for downloading pics' to forums etc (but no problems to send via emails).
Does anyone know how to change the settings on My Documents/My Pictures and what settings should be used for this purpose (using "properties") please.
Edit: Tried both 30 percentage (which has worked ok in the past) and pixel (640x480) downsizing on Paint plus save at those sizes and neither are working for me....

Well good news at last, I can now post pic's again.
Thanks to all those who contributed helpful hints and feedback, but a special thank you to Santa for his help, especially for posting pic's on my behalf, it was greatly appreciated. Thanks also to Cindy and her pc guru who were also trying to resolve the problem in the background.
There was no fault with the forum, it turned out to be one of the things I suspected, the settings on my pc Bigpond Gateway modem. This had been installed by a Telstra Tech however he had not reset the settings which apparently needed to be done.
A wonderful and patient Bigpond telephone technician in the Phillipines spent time working through different avenues on my pc and resolved the issue, resetting my settings for me. I have nothing but praise for these tech's overseas, they have helped me on a number of occasions and from my experience know their stuff.
None of us like seeing jobs for some companies going overseas, but remember these tech's are only workers making a living and are not responsible for Bigpond policies as to where they source their work. I am grateful for their help.
