Had a few good days with Patty halfpint at her house sit in Kyabram, I was looked after very well and we spent time yesterday shopping and discussing meals that I will be able to cook when on the road in the Coaster. For the first time my freezer area is full of meat and I have stocks of vegetables. Perhaps as well because I will be here until the next pension and the pressure cooker will get dusted off and the books that sheba sent will be dug out of hiding.
I will take photos of this camp site (Camps6 #524) and post tomorrow, I arrived late and by the time I was set up it was dark but it looks very good on the banks of the Murrumbidgee and walking distance to town. There are many campers here with a variety of rigs so I will have time tomorrow to meet and mix, a few fires are burning presumably entertaining happy hours. Too late to cook tonight so I fell back on the good old 2 minute noodles. John
I got to Hay on a beautiful sunny afternoon last November. I made Hay while the sun shone! All the best mate from Andy who has just arrived in Darwin after a great tripup the centre.
Saturday morning and this is an excellent place to hole up for a while, I walked into Hay taking 10 minutes and a beautiful place it is with green parks and gardens everywhere. The parking is easy for big rigs and there is an IGA and an information office where I got a map and booklet about reasons to live in Hay with 10 things to do whilst there.
In the campsite there are rubbish bins, free barbeques and flushing toilets. Water is available from taps not potable but excellent for washing and showers. Plenty of space for the biggest rigs all in all a really good camp site with sandy beaches for swimming in the summer. John
Thanks for the pics John. I've missed your travels while you were off the road.lol The new rig looks great and more comfortable. It's hard to stay inside a Hiace if the weather isn't great.

Saw you a few days ago at the rest stop just souh of Adelaide River, I had all the dogs. Wanted to come over and say g'day but you were a little boxed in by the other rigs. i was camped in a swag as i was travelling 'light' to get back to Darwin. If you are around for a while, might meet up for a cuppa.

Sunday morning and added a sunrise Pic. Hard to beat the flat country for sunrises and sunsets. Spent the morning squaring off the fridge I had installed it whilst on a slope and it never sat right
Your set up looks great John. Hay is a great town. I think you might find the is a second supermarket there too. Enjoy your stay. Guess it's too cool for mozzies now. And yes, the Outback Shearers Hall is worth a visit if you can afford it. Not too far to walk back out to the highway.
One of my favourite camps on our trip late last year. I had the car serviced there, bil had new tyres put on, and the townsfolk are nice and friendly.
Even though there were a lot of people there, nobody was on our doorstep. The only slight annoyance was a whiz bang couple who looked like they'd been living there for awhile, had a generator going 24/7. Luckily it wasn't too noisy and far enough away.
Good to catch up again with Peter Scotty01, he arrived this afternoon we last met in October at Greens Lake. We will have a couple of days before we go our separate ways.
