It appears the Great Northern Migration has begun.
Driving to work I pass the Sharon free camp just out of Bundaberg (Camps No. 121). This morning it was chockers. Not a big camp but must have been 15-20 motorhomes , caravans etc. there.
I come back in the afternoon about 2pm and it's empty then so would suggest if you are planning on using this camp sometime around then might be an opportune time to arrive there.
Was talking to a couple of people here in Kalbar showgrounds, who are heading to the Mackay area - they haven't booked anything, don't really like free camping, and have never been up that way at this time of the year! I don't think some people realise just how many get on the road at this time of year up here.

The only time we have ever notices one of those Gray Nomad stickers was in N/T at a servo , my wife said to me at the time ...fancy displaying a sign like that TO tell the world you are old....We at that stage classed ourself as not old .Times change and you see things through different eyes ,now we just think we are only as old as we want to be.So i recon age is just a number.
I notice Jack Mac that some are wondering where all these north bound caravans are going to fit.
The vans passing through this way to head further north is amazing ,today i recon counted 30 big rigs ( maybe from some kind of club ) in just over 2hrs. The rain has not stopped them on the move .But i only hope they have made booking as there is no way all these vans/ motorhomes/ camper trailers/ are going to fit into van parks.
