I have been thinking, which at this late stage in my life, does frighten me.
However, just image rolling into a town and for every $10 dollars spent in a local shop you received a $1 voucher towards your stay at a local (ish) Caravan Park. Obviously National Supermarkets and Fuel Stations would not be part of this scheme (unless head office agreed).
The CP would then submit the vouches collected over time to their council who would in turn discount this amont from the CP's Rates or what ever.
Everyone is a winner, The Butcher, the Baker and in the end probably the Candle Stick Maker.
But I guess I'll just go on dreaming of meeting my Milliomairess who owns a bottle shop.

Now my brain hurts again, must give up thinking.............!
Well done Terra Domus, under your scheme the local Council may well end up owing the Caravan Park even after allowing for the payment of their rates....GN's are greatly under estimated by the Commercial World and too easily dismissed as non spenders, and this would set a precedent for a nation wide trend......every Council and Caravan Park in Oz and Tasmania..Lol.....should be targeted for promotion of your pragmatic idea....Hoo Roo

Yep, I reckon the idea has merit too. In fact, a lot of GNs would save their spending until they arrived in town, thus increasing the town's income from what it might have been.

And there I was thinking that we are part of Oz?
Oh well, at least this time we haven't been left off the map.
Thanks you all for your encouragement I will continue to give this idea a push and take plenty of panadol to keep the "Little Grey Cells" moving in that dierection.
What a briliant idea, why have there c/van and motor home organizations came up with this idea. ...I recon you strat your own club up and we all on here could be you under studies. You have my VOTE come V day. One of the best idears ever recomended in the last four years....And none of us even have to pay you a wage to get that simple idea put forward....
Brilliant idea I have often wondered why the schools don't open up their areas as well during the school holidays if you paid $5 ot $10 a night the money could go to the school for supplies for the kids and it may stop some of the vandalism at the schools during the holiday period just a thought. Helena.
Thanks to you all for your positive comments, not one negative comment. I will write a press release and post it for your comments and after a final re-write make it available for all of us to use.
Russ this is an absolutely wonderful idea. So was the one about the public school during holidays to pay a small amount to go back to the school for supplies, but getting the state and federal governments to agree to that is huge for the schools. But nevertheless a fabulous concept.
I for one would love to pass it around to all and sundry. Lets get this going GNer's
There is a school in Redcliffe that does that it called Humdybong state school in Queensland , Russ your idea is a good one I have found the same sort of thing in reverse at caravan in which local business give caravan park vouchers for discount on fuel and other goods and services , Free camper might not like the idea has they would think these greedy caravan parks owner are trying to make them use their park
I have in the past present a well layed out business proposal to both our local council and the chamber of commerce. Along the lines of air links between vic and tas at basicly the closest airports, both country airports. Both the council and the chamber were very negative because it wasn't something they conjured up in the dark bowels of there thought process. Your only way to succeed a plan through a council is somehow give them an idea that they can claim as their own. Councils, tourism acciations and chambers of commerce have to be the most negative infighting mobs I have ever tried to deal with. The OP has some merit in the thought process though
