two months to go today :)

With travelling this big country, it is hard to make plans set into cement due to there is always some thing unexpected to go explore. And i always say be prepared for the unexpected to pop upr, regarding  change in weather conditions/and road closures. But all makes the journey just that little bit more interesting. We got stuck in Tennet Creek once for a week due to the servo only having one fuel pump working and would only allow $60 of fuel per vehicle. We thought what the hell are we going to do stuck here for a week, but it turned out a blessing in disguise. We stayed out of town over the bridge at a beaut c/ van park and went and explored places we would never thought to go see.Including a river cruise.

in exactly Two  months today i will have my last day of work. The away we go the next day.

in the next two weeks the new van and car arrives, Pete has now finished work so all the running around getting everthing done will be up to him hmm  this includes adding all the extras to the car and van, moving all that we pack into storage and ready the house to be handed back on the 30th June (we live in work provided accommodation), make sure the holiday home is ready to be left for over six months, and im sure  101 other things.  I still say he's got the easy part - cos im still at WORK!!!!

The plan is to head north up via Mildura, Maree, Williams Creek, West McDonald Rangers, past Alice on the way to Darwin, then a quick trip to Bali, back to darwin heading to Broom via the Gibb River Road.  i know everyone says not to plan but i cant help it aww. im sure the time frame/destination will change some but im ok with that.

i am looking forward to sharing my storys as we travel and am hoping to do short travel movies as a diary (go pro all set up and ready smile )

i love reading about everyone travels on here and cant wait to see the same sights.

Counting the minutes - we love this life on the road - never have a boring day - we make roughish plans - but they can change at a moments notice!!! All the more fun that way!!!

I reckon your other half has the best part of the job as well - your time will drag - he will be so busy, won't have enough time in the days!!!
Good luck to you both!!

All the best Sylva - enjoy the last minute planning and packing because you know what comes next. Sounds good.

Sylva A lot of enjoyment can be found in the actual planning. Especially if you do some research on places you are likely to visit. Of course please be flexible. Sometimes the best things happen because you veered slightly from the original plan. Have a great time on the road.

I'm really very envious.  We were planning to go early next year, but my retirement is dependent on sortng out some financial loose ends, and this  goal seems to be receeding, rather than getting closer.  It will all happen eventually, but it's SO frustrating. I want to retire tomorrow!!
