All i would suggest is follow the seasons, no good landing up in say, Darwin to find it is in the middle of the wet season up there. We find the journey is some times more enjoyable than the destination we are aiming for, once we arrive. So many people on the road these days in such a hurry to get to that next destination they just miss out on so much in between.

Toss a coin and follow that is the best idea. Take each day as it comes and never go past a good place to camp and if you miss something go back. Get out there and relax and enjoy. Each day is the adventure not the expected destination as many never get there as they are too many nice places in between. Regards Brian

I too would turn left and as said by herbie travel according to the climate and don't get caught in the build up or the wet season in the Northern Territory, a slow steady trip around the coast at this stage and you should experience pleasant temperatures, take your time crossing the Nullabour as there is heaps to see.

Decisions, decisions. I'm on the mid north coast of NSW so my decision will be different to yours. But I have a feeling that, after a bit of travelling, my tracks will resemble a child's first drawing. I keep hearing the expression "the big loop" but I figure mine will be lots of little loops. Things could turn out to be very different from what I imagine but, be it left or right, it doesn't mean you gotta keep heading in the same direction.
Thanks that was thought but I don't really know why a isn't it hot towards Adelaide and west that time of year
Yep - PSE - will be hot - but the northern parts of Oz at that time of the year are so humid - not pleasant travelling at all - stick to the southern coastal areas - it is all a great learning curve really!!
And as GaryKelly says - we say "the big loop" but our travels meander all over the place - round in circles sometimes - zigzag - as the mood takes us mostly - just love it!!!!
