Any advice on which road to use heading north would be appreciated. I don't particularly like the coast road because it is so busy. Is that rain mentioned at Gympie an issue further South?
When travelling North I prefer the New England Highwayand. To avoid the heavy traffic thru Maitland turn off the F3 about 15k's past the Morisett exit and go via Cessnock, coming onto the highway at Branxton. The New England highway is fairly hilly but does not have as many trucks as the Pacific. When you reach Willow Tree you can decide to travel via Narrabri and Moree this road travels thru flatter country and is not much further in distance and until you reach Narrabri there is not much traffic.
