G'day Annietravels, welcome to the forum.

A bit more info would be helpful. How many vans? Where are you travelling from and to?

There are many places along the new England.

Welcome to the forum annietravels. Muswellbrook Showground is on the southside of town but I don't recall ever seeing any vans staying there. I know where the Singleton Showground is (on the south side) but again, not sure that vans are allowed to stay. Maybe a phone call to one of the councils would help.

There will be 3 vans & we want to stay hooked up, travelling from south coast NSW to Quirindi then onto St. George.

Annie, I don't think there are many spots around maitland or singleton but someone from that are may assist.

further along the NE hwy just north of Scone there is Burning mountain a very nice rest are well off the hwy has flushing toilets and good shade.
Wallabadah has a very nice camp area beside the creek and is much nicer than Quirindi cp 16 km away.

Burning mountain is nice, but difficult to find a level site. If you want to stay hitched that could be tricky.... also noise from the highway.
But its a great place to stop for lunch/cuppa and walk up the hill to see the "Burning" mountain.

Berry Showgrounds are pretty good - right near town - if you are near there.

The caravan park at Quirindi is a nice place to stay, the amenities are excellent and the sites spacious it is only a small park and within walking distance to town and only a short walk to a local pub, have stayed there many times and then take a very pleasant drive of about 70k along quiet roads via Werris Creek which was once an important railway town and has a very impressive railway station and museum, rejoining the New England Highway at Tamworth.
Cheers
David

It might be a bit far south but Gosford Showground had powered sites.

Lake Liddell near Muswellbrook has camping for $5 a night. Can't remember if per person or per vehicle though. Thats without power and there is some powered spots available at $15.

Lake Liddell is a good one if still open and Wallabadah has good open spaces so you wouldn't have to unhitch but I don't think there is power.

Jules47 Berry is a long way from the New England area that Annie is talking about! Wrong highway. But yes, Berry Showground is good.
