Wurumba Dam Get Together

Just waiting on the reports from the meet and greet up there last couple of weeks.

Wife and I spent a week there and enjoyed ourselves. Caught plenty of crays and a few fish.

Quite a few Grey Nomad Members there as well as many more other Caravanners and Campers.

Weather was great, getting a bit cool when we left on Monday 22nd.

Have fun Haji-Baba

There are a few posts and Pics. in the 'Get-togethers' thread Jeff.  I left last Saturday.  Marj. was leaving today.  At least one GN has just arrived.  Don't know how many are still there.  As you know, it's not an easy place for Mobile or Internet reception.

Might see you again one of these days.

Cheers,

Sheba.

Saw all the pickies "Sheba". Wasn't that a beautiful little yacht, had a couple of hours sail in it on Saturday.
Very little wind but brought back lots of memories for me as an older sailor from way back.

It is a small world, we met a Man and his Wife camped very near us at the dam whose father was a school teacher at Jinghi Gully one teacher school 12 miles East of Jandowae. I attended that school in 1943, the year after his father left.

My father and other local farmers built a school residence for the incoming teacher Lester Boetcher (spelling) soon after the previous teacher left the district.

Yes, it was a great get together and who knows where we will meet again.

Have fun Haji-Baba

Was really great to meet you after all this time Haji-Baba. I just did a count up and it seems there were 14 lots of grey nomads attended in total.
I have started a new thread with a few photos and will add more as I resize them.

Thanks H.W. Yes It was a good place to meet other people although we never intended to go there in the first place.

I hadn't been following the posts on the forum so was unaware of your G.N. meeting.

My wife and I had a window to get away and intended to go to Inskip Point fishing and crabbing. That was cancelled due to weather problems and the Dam seemed to be a better option.

We are now off the road for a couple of months, "Farm Sitting" This is a normal activity for us and we have regular contacts who wish to get away for a time and we fill in.

I retired in 94 and with a country background and many rural contacts we have had a lot of different "jobs"

Have fun on your travels and we may get to another of your "Meet and Greet" activities in the future.

Providing it is in "The North" can't stand the cold.

This job we are going next Friday to can get down to -10c. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have fun Haji-Baba
