Bargara Qld TV reception

Anyone been to Bargara since digital tv started as when we were there in Aug 2011 very poor tv reception although when we enquired at the office were told that reception was good and there maybe something wrong with your antenna. Not had problems elsewhere????

G'day Gwian,
we were there last year and had terrible reception on the caravan antenna. It seems there is a mix of vertical and horizontal signals so unless you have an antenna array that includes both you will have trouble. The caravan park near the ring road was where we stayed and the owner said they were in a black spot.

He was investigating a system to overcome the problem but I am not sure if he ever did.

We used our VAST sat system to overcome all that and had no probs.

We are here now and I only get SBS and very badly at that.  Rob and Heather(greyghosts) next door get a bit more but most vans have trouble here.   Anyway there is always beer.

GDay Gwain,

We were there for Easter 2013 and the signal is still the same, (none)  We added the Digital plane to the Winegard Antenna, but still no improvement just made the antenna heaver to wind up.

In certain spots some caravanners indicated that they were getting some reception, but overall if you want TV you would need a Satellite Dish.

Quite unbelievable that you cannot get TV reception in such a popular area less than 1km from the town centre.

I stayed at the Absolute Ocean front park a couple of weeks ago. Perfect TV with park TV system wired to sites. Bargara is a great spot to stay while exploring the Bundy area. Even saw the turtles hatching.

Thanks everyone for your input....For the amount that they now charge I would have expected the park owners to have improved the tv reception.....we will give it a miss
