Can anyone please tell me the best way to get a flu shot on the road? I get one every year from my GP but he's a long way away and I'll be a while on the road yet.
I've had 2 flu shots in the past 30 years. First one was the first I'd ever had, as I was persuaded by the medical advice at the time. About 3 months later I had the flu and was ill for a couple of weeks. Next one was a freebie at work in the mid 90's, About 3 months later I had the flu and was quite ill, requiring several Dr's visits and 3 weeks off work. I might add that in the Nursing Home where I worked, all staff and patients had their flu shots , and almost everybody got the flu, including 18 hospital admissions and 2 deaths.
Nowadays I'm too scared to have another flu shot. Yet my partner does every year, and he never gets sick, not even a cold.
Thanks for that. I'll see about getting a jab & taking my chances. All the medicos say that you won't get the specific flu you are being injected to prevent but you can still pick up other variations: I'd like to see an objective set of statistics tho, as there does seem to be a link to getting a flu injection, followed by getting the flu. Perhaps I'll wait until July when I'm in Perth: If I get sick I can get my niece to look after me!
Yes, I can't get mine until May 13th - so hoping I don't get the flu. I usually get sick from the end of winter into spring. Last year it was almost pneumonia. The joys of being asthmatic.

Safe travels all, may the flu pass you by.
July is leaving it a bit late - best time is April/May - most medical centres or Doctors surgeries should be able to assist.

Why not try some natural instead of supporting some multinational company that sends its profits overseas as well as costing me ( a taxpayer payg) every payday.
This product is made using natural indredients and no human or animal component is added. It keeps you healthy on the inside. The maker of the product tells me that you can live on this!!! (with water).
It is a probiotic powder that can be added to water, juice sprinkled on food if you need to and so on.
Call me anytime t discuss as I am that prepared to talk up this amazing product. It is great for animals as well.
See the website http://slsfree.miessence.com/en/product/19501/inliven-probiotic-superfood-value-pack- to purchase on line.

I've been having the flu shot every year, generally late March early April, since 1998 when I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis. What's the connection I hear you say...it's a very draining disease, and coupled with the fact that I have a srivveled up spleen, and a history of chest infections, it all made sense to me. For the same reasons I've had every booster known to man, including the Pnuemonia one.
I was told that those earlier flu shots were a bit dicky, and of course, each year they...whoever they are...have to predict what strain of flu is heading our way. So they look at what's happened in the northern hemisphere winter and act accordingly.
Glad you haven't had the flu for that long Recoup but others do get it and have other health issues to think about. Our son has an iGa deficiency and if his children catch a cold he could end up with pneumonia - so flu would be even worse. I find I'm a whole lot better if I hit the road and we keep our own company - but I'm not keen to live in isolation. So the flu shot means I can get some protection.
And I do eat all of the list you supplied as well.

Last time I had the flu would have been 15 years ago, I never had a flu shot in my live , in my opinion it is only a money spinner for the pharmacy .
The more flu shots you get the weaker your immune system gets. To build up your immune system you have to eat plenty of garlic , ginger ,onions , vitamine C ,zink, but then you know all this and " WASH YOUR HANDS". Just think somebody is coughing and sneezing in his hand and then grabing a trolly or hand rail ?
Well they can stick there needeles ,you know where
so I clicked on "ingredients" and its a blank space... ?????
Tks for that pickup....
The single pack has the ingredients listed. Cannot hyperlink on the iPad but here is the link so ycancan see the 26 food ingredients ans 13 bacteria that is in the powder.
I have the flue shot every year, and having mine tomorrow and i hate ,HATE NEEDLES.... and I'm abit like Mongrel, I too usually get crook for a while after the shot.. but if I dont have it then I'm usually worse off, one year I missed it and had phenomena, was lucky to get better before I left for the UK ...
