Same sex marriage in New Zealand

So heres another...This time this ones flying around Australia...lol
An Australian father watched his young daughter playing in the garden. He smiled as he reflected on how sweet and pure his little girl was.

Tears formed as he thought about her seeing the wonders of nature through such innocent eyes.

Suddenly she stopped and stared at the ground.
He went over to see what work of God had captured her attention. She was looking at two spiders mating.

'Daddy, what are those two spiders doing?' she asked.

'They're mating,' her father replied. "Making love".

'What do you call the spider on top?' she asked.

A Daddy Longlegs,' her father answered.

'So, the other one is a Mummy Longlegs?' the little girl asked.

His heart soared with joy at this cute and innocent question. He replied, 'No dear. Both of them are Daddy Longlegs.'

The little girl, looked puzzled, thought for a moment, then lifted her foot and stomped the spiders flat.

'Well", she said, "that might be OK in New Zealand, but we're not having any of that **** in Australia."

I have 2 grandchildren whose mother is gay. Go figure!!

I have nothing against being gay at all. I just wish she had made up her mind before she ruined so many lives.

She turned?? gay last year at the age of 40.

Hopefully, marriage equality will mean the end of gay people feeling pressured into an unsuitable marriage. Marriage equality will give them the opportunity to marry the person of their choice rather than a person chosen for the wrong reasons. Very few parents accept the possibility that their child will be gay. Most assume they will be straight and plan their futures accordingly. The pressure on gay kids to live up to their parents' expectations - as well as their peers - can be crushing. If they don't run away from home or suicide, as many do, they end up in marriages for all the wrong reasons. Then it's the innocent children of that marriage who get hurt, not to mention the spouse. But you need to keep in mind where it all starts. Marriage equality is the first step in remedying a problem that's been around for way too long.

  1. Denial: This isnt happening. Yes 'it' is......and moreso everyday with social awakening/aceptance.

  2. Bargaining: Just let me last through this. Nice try, but 'its' not a temporary condition.

  3. Anger: I hate this. Good call....Let it all out.

  4. Despair: Were doomed. NO...not really...its OK. Its not that bad.

  5. Acceptance: OK, how do I get to understand? There you go! Progress.

Sometimes it takes someone many years to find what make him or her happy, compromising to please those around you is not healthy.

Like my favorite song, Pursuit of Happiness, which is what life, is about.

Being gay isn't a choice. Being honest is.

Not being open about it has effects on the sexuality and marriage, and on psychological health.

It is a sad thing all around, and I'm very sorry for all involved, as there is no joy in a situation like this.

I once worked with a woman who had been married 3 times trying to find happiness in a relationship , before, as she said, "realised it wasn't them it was me".
