Just watching new series of Mrs Brown on TV,about the only thing on TV that one can get a good laugh from .With alll the gloom and doom that surounds us these days it is good to know there is some laughter left in the world. The local Sanity music shop here is taking orders for the 3d series.
Yes last year we were in a caravan park in North Queensland and the people around us were roaring with laughter so not knowing why the next day I had to ask what it was all about the answer Mrs Brown so had to make sure we watched the next week yes a great laugh
We watch it every week. My daughter has started buying the DVD series. I love how they leave the bloopers in. It's a brilliant show. Trust the English to make great shows.
Yeoeleven, John, Is the President of the Australian Mr Browns fan club. He can be contacted in Solos most of the time. if you are camped near John you will hear his laughter around the camp site late at night. much better than drunken yobbo's any time. good on ya John.
Did not realise John was the President of such a prestigious club, must send him my fees.....I will just address the cheque To Yeoeleven at no fixed abode.
Regards Herbie

Yes herbie just make out the cheque to yeoeleven. I started my collection of Mrs Brown's boys at Greens where ROWDY-RABBIT Rod had series 1 and a Xmas special then half pint Patty had a DVD with series 2 and whilst at FlorinHill I was able to download series 3 episodes 1 to 6 and another Xmas special.
I was in trouble at Greens for laughing too loud after 9.30pm and disturbing my neighbour who shall be nameless. A fantastic show and an excellent program to watch whilst entertaining guests I have found it universally accepted. Some of the backpackers from overseas need a help with some of the nuances and double entendres. John
Mrs Browns Boys coming to Aus next year. Wow, I gotta get to that. Oooh I'm sooooooo excited. Does anyone know when or where? Maybe Yeoeleven being president of the fan club and all could get us good seats ??????????????????
Jeepers, I must be the odd one out here, I consider I have a reasonable sense of humour and love most British comedy, but Mrs Brown doesn't do much for me at all, a lot of the humour is too predictable and telegraphed and I am no prude but the swearing doesn't make it any better IMHO.
Someone gave me a CD of Mrs Browns episodes as a gift, which I ended up sending to another GN who I knew loves the show. I wonder if any others don't like the show much either or am I the only one?
However, I am glad for those who do enjoy the show, life needs laughs to detract from our other worries etc, but in this case for me it just doesn't cut it.

The following is how I remember Brendon Carrol describing the history of the show when he was interviewed about a year ago. And I know for sure the credits at the end highlight BBC Scotland.
Tis true that the star and author of the show, Brendon Carrol is Irish. And yes he did approach both of the prominent Irish TV production groups with the concept, and they rejected it. He then approach BBC in London, who also rejected the concept (it was politically incorrect), but did give him an introduction to the right person in BBC Scotland.
BBC Scotland actually funded the writting of the first series, then produced the series. The first attempt was a studio production which was not effective, Brendon Carrol stated later that he found working without an audience cold, and sterile. They then started again in front of a live audience, and the whole thing came alive.
Brendon Carol was interviewed about a year ago about the overnight success of Mrs Brown, and he explained that it had taken more than three years to get it off the ground.
Aah Grams, tis not the English what made it but the Scotts.
Thats way funnier than what the English make nowadays.
No Plendo its not the Scots either but the Irish which makes it even funnier in my opinion and I just love it when she/he says fecking. Cracks me up every single time lol
Anyone who dosn't get a laugh from this show ,must not have a very good sence of humour...
Well it doesn't make me laugh, and I can assure you I have a very good sense of humour. I haven't knocked the sense of humour of those who do like the show so would like the same respect please.

I'm with you vic I really can not see why I should accept the sort of language from a television ,that most guests would realise is rude and inappropriate. notice nobody uses that sort of language on this forum I am glad to say, although we come close at times.
