Received a letter today and getting the job checked in Alice next week. They have done a few and have the new towbars in stock. Better to be safe I decided
DEFECT: The attachment points on the Nissan Australia genuine accessory towbars _ (part no. G9162-ECOOOAU and G9162-EC100AU) can create excessive stress upon the chassis frame rails over time. As a result, cracks can occur at the ends of the chassis rails. ~ HAZARD: In extreme cases, sections of the chassis rails around the towbar attachment _ points may bend when heavy load is applied. _ _ Irrespective of whether your vehicle is fitted with one of the above towbars ~ or not, you are advised to contact your Nissan Dealer to arrange for an inspection and where required, rectification of your vehicle. The rectification includes the replacement of the genuine towbar to a revised _ design, and where required, the repair of the chassis rails. The inspection and any necessary work will be performed free of charge where a genuine _ Nissan towbar is being replaced. ~ CONTACT DETAILS: - : If you have any further enquires, please contact your Nissan Dealer or the ~ Nissan Customer Service Centre on 1800 035 035. _
