If anyone thinking of going to Cobbold Gourge QLD,heading back from Mount Surprise singage on the road invites you to put your rig through the free car wash to prevent plant material from being transported to other places. Good IDEA in princible, but a fellow traveller used it doing the right thing, and now his Brand New Navara is now covered in etched water drops, and are imposible to remove. He is also concerned what effect this is going to have on his vans aluminium panels, as the water was sprayed under pressure. The water that is used is from a bore and not thinking he used it as he said there were no signs warning of the bore water.
Hope this info may stop someone else from this happening to them.( He was wondering if it was just him or has anyone had this problem ) Re the use of using these washes. I have never used them myself due to the fact of not knowing where the water was from .
We wash our cars with bore water all the time. If you chamois it off as soon as it is rinsed there is usually no spotting. If you let the water dry on the vehicle it will spot but a quick polish will get that off usually.

It will be interesting to see the out come of my friends out come over what happened to the paint work on his vihicle,as he has to take it into the Nissan Dealer here friday ,so they can inspect the damage.( maybe due to a fault with the paint they think )
UPDATE:: I wiped infected areas with diluted white vinegar, it works a treat!! those stain happily went away but again i dont know if that is any good for ur paint job but heck.. if u do that before u give ur car a good wash there arent much to worry
the above was stolen from toyota owners group forum.....
