For years now vehicles have had a water trap cannister with a redlight warning on the dash , or have a water catch bowl fitted below the fuel filter system with the same warning system, why would you need another if you have this factory system, which has been around for 30 years or more.

Water watch. Over the years I've had 3 lLandcruisers, have done like many others a lot of clicks, and obtained fuel from many different outlets. Although there is a water trap built into the fuel filter which works quite well, I find that every now and again that trap gets water built up in it. I have had a external water trap fitted which works very well and gives you a visual, whenever water is present.
In my opinion if you want to avoid the possibility of unwanted water etc in your system and possibly causing heaps of damage then fit one, about $100.
