solar regs-mppt vs smart regs

I have just changed from a so called "smart " solar reg to an mppt solar eg. The "smart" reg was a cm30, and was not up to the job. It advertised you could adjust the charging rate and the voltage, but I tried many times and could not. The new one is an mppt " tracking" type reg. I have 2-80 watt panels. Has anybody any experience with this type ?I would apreciate your views. Thanks, Bill

Dont know of these, I'm running two Plasmatronics PL20's, one in the van & one in the tug, works perfect with a 30day history.
