My cousin has just returned from there with his caravan, but didn't mention anything about that, it is a Denmark Shire camping ground so suggest give them a ring or Denmark Tourist Bureau.

Last time I was there in 2010 a big caravan like GR's backed into a space behind the front toilet block.  But a very tricky campground and lots of overhanging trees to negotiate, I wouldn't like to take a big van in there, although a couple of others did.  There is a large open gravel parking area on your right of the bitumen road coming into the camp, I have heard that the Camp Warden will let you park there if you ask, but it is fully open and no shade if you are chasing shade.

In the attached photo behind my then Jayco Feather and Xtrail (in the centre photo) you can see part of the big van, not a very clear shot of the full van though.  A couple of other shots (not mine) of the beach and the road down to the beach (Camp Warden's house is on the right hand side).

One of Western Australia most beautiful parts may be being closed down to vans over 20ft has anyone else heard this rumor,

It has always been so good and cheap look forward to hearing any updates.cry

We were there last November, and let's face it, the site does not really cater for big vans. We have a 21ft van. We got in there with the aid of the camp warden. I still don't know how we managed to get out!
We've found it a common problem with most of the free sites along WA's south coast

I was walking on a bush path near the Rivermouth Caravan Park in Denmark, only 20 kms east of Parry's Beach, and came across this Dugite.

Luckily he slithered off past me, like the Tiger Snake John (Yeo) saw at Parry's they are highly venomous...

It can be a tight spot but it is worth the risk we go down a couple of times a year and have a great time very good fishing and if you want to burn some fuel beach drivivg is quite good, but it is one of the few spots know where you can have your dog which is an added bonus.

Keep on eye on your pets. While we were there a rather large dugite snake crawled into the wardens office, cornered and ate a blue tounge lizard then calmly crawled out again. Completely oblivious to the photographs being taken of it during the meal. Well known for it's abundance of snakes.

Yes true there are plenty of snakes about and you do have to exercise some care, my dog has killed many snakes in our travels, over the time, and we have know got him to stay back, as his days would of been numbered if he kept that up, but alls well end well.

 Yep, my thongs didn't quite cut it!  The snake didn't seem to mind, I just stood still and he slithered past on the edge of the path. hmm

Brian is an ex Sydney-ite, (I met him some time ago when he gave a talk at the Bushwalking Club I belonged to, he brought a number of his "friends" in bags).

One thing I remembered in particular was to use a torch when going outside for a nature break at night because a lot of snakes hunt during the night and you have more chance of stepping on them then than during the day.... hmm
