Always disliked faux fur.

In the same region as the faux wood panels the Americans used to favour on cars. They call them 'Woodies'. Remember the 'truckster' bought by Chevy Chase in National Lampoon's Vacation?

I once had a "Champ" [English version of Jeep basically.] that I repainted Zebra pattern.  Covered the seats in Lime Green material.  I loved it.

Cheers,

Sheba.

You beat me to it John.  I remembered in the middle of the night that it was an Austin.  One thing I loved about it was the fact that it would go up almost vertical terrain.  I think it was one of, if not the first 4x4 to use a Snorkel.  Thanks for the Link.

Just checked it out .  Saved a couple of the Pics.

Cheers,

Sheba.

I had to grin when I read that it was LandRover, the Exxon Valdez of the highways that displaced it.

[apologies to LR owners, you are appreciated for your eccentricity and warmly regarded always]

The Austin Champ had a few interesting features....The steering wheel was held on with a wing nut, you could insert an extension rod and steer while standing on the seat!!! This was for river crossings.....

Reverse gear was a seperate lever so you got four reverse gears...
