Levin, New Zealand

Hi to everyone.

Sitting in the New Levin Library using their internet for free. This is the town I was born in, and lived all my life in until I moved to Aus.

Very nostalgic being in this building as only built last year but full of history, great to see so many old photos of the town and surrounding districts.

Hope everyone well over there.

We've had some excitement and some disasters while away starting with me being so sick on the wedding day I only saw the ceremony, spending the rest ofthe day in bed. Then got a stye in my eye which after trying drops from the chemist, I ended up at the Wanganui Hosp for antibiotics and better eye drops. The lump has now come to the outside and burst twice but still hasn't gone down. A very sore eye.

Then my sister got a call to say half of their shopping complex in Torquay Vic was burnt down overnight two days ago, losing 3 shops and 4 apartments above the shops destroyed and a few out the back badly damaged including the pool area and gym area. Very sad, the family are sorting it all out and sis will see it all when we get home.

Other than that we've been in a fire evacuation drill at the hospital, A bomb powder test at Melb airport and now staying in a motel wherethe trains go past in the middle of the night just metres from my bed.

Catch you all soon.

But I'm glad you're having your trip down memory lane.

Enjoy. smile

Not the happiest of tales from the Happy Wanderer. Hopefully, things will improve and you'll look back one day on these events with a smile on your face. Don't worry, be happy is easier said than done... but it helps to practice.

You'll be glad to get back home for some peace and quiet Marj.  Just hope you don't have any dramas when you arrive back here.

Cheers,

Sheba.

Come back to Oz Marj, much more peaceful over here. You have had a workout, haven't you? We're presently in Townsville visiting more family (heading back Bundy way in a week or so). We'll hopefully get over to the get together at the lake while we're in the area.

I'd love to see the old photos of Levin. Used to catch whitebait in the local rivers in the '70s. Now that will cure your woes....Whitebait fritters.
