How the internet works

This is pretty simplified but explains what happens.

If you're curious what goes on after you click... Done from point of view of someone in England... but pretty accurate.

This is mind boggling !
How the Internet works:

This is done so well, it is definitely worth the minute to watch and see what goes on behind

the scenes. Absolutely Amazing.

In the Future, I will think Differently when the Net seems Slow.

Gday...

Berry interesting ... thanks Spida

It reminds me of a comment a Telecom (now Telstra) network engineer said to me when I worked for Telecom.

"It is not surprising, given the multi-complex path the dialled digits from a telepone must travel, there are occasionally wrong numbers. The actual surprise is that you get the correct connection 99% of the time !"

Cheers - John

My hubby still doesn't know how to text! But he does know how to send an email and find his genealogy sites!

I found that very interesting even though I am fairly computer literate.

I just played that for Les, he is very computer illiterate, and it amazed him. But I have told him when we are on the road I am going to show him how to use my laptop. It only took him 2 years to learn to text with his phone...so he should be typing emails within 10 years I reckon...lol

WOW! We take it for granted, don't really think about the process.

Can anyone tell me why my ancient Samsung can give me excellent internet reception when connected to my computer and used as a dongle, while my you-beaut latest thing 4G Telstra dongle gives me nothing at the same site?

Technology is a wonderful thing - WHEN it works.
For all the good it does, there are the low-lifes out there using it to scam bucks out of the innocent.
