Water Tanks

I have found over the past 12 years and three vans latter, water tanks are best kept full, because completely empty ( DRY ) is hard to achieve ,Make sure your van dosn't have clear plastic piping from the tanks. If it does it needs to be replaced with food grade tubing or algae will grow in the pipes and then shift into the tanks. Drain the tanks and refill them, priour to a trip.Best to tow with almost full tanks of water it helps balance the van i find .

Thanks for that. Our old van we bought to restore had this problem, we were going to remove all the hoses and replace the tank as its very bad. Now it's up to whoever buys it to do it.

But draining and filling up the water tanks before going on a long trip is a good idea. Where we bought our van, they are supplying all the hoses free, the water one is blue and the waste one is black. Glad they don't use the clear ones there.
