The big negative for the Southern Cross for me is the fact that they can't be towed by one of the popular utes, they need a tabletop truck and that rules them out for me and put the Travelhome on top.
After a lot of research we opted for a "Southern Cross," We used a basic floor plan but changed a few things to the way we wanted. We also went to the factory a couple of times during the build. We live in Brisbane so that made it easier. Wizardofoz, most Southern Cross owners tow with the popular utes,eg BT50, Navara, Izusu D-max; That is what we have (D-max). Had to change tub for traytop, works well . Well worth a good look. Ed.
I heard on one of the Caravan shows last weekend that Jayco are developing a 5th wheeler but when that will be available, and as a newbie to the 5th wheeler market will it be a case of wait a while till the bugs are ironed out?

Our Southern Cross is hitched to a Ford F250 ute - not a tray top. All things are possible.
Living on the Central Coast, we have been perving on the Travelhome brand for months before buying the Sterling. I have to say they are the ants pants, the only thing sus is that they don't have a slide out like the Cutloose. Both are very similar in that they are relatively streamlined instead of a slab front. Very good finish on both. regards Andy
