Boring, boring ,boring. Would them or those what keep predicting what the most unpredictable critter in nature is going to do PLEASE give me a 25:1 winner for tomorrow or better still the winning lotto numbers.
Try getting 1m of stinking, cowpat laden water through your home, losing all your possessions, and then having to depend on charity while you work to make your home habitable again, then tell me boring boring boring. Listen to your grandchild's confusion about not being allowed to go home and having to tell her that her toys are lost in the mud and then tell me boring boring boring. We don't need sympathy, but some respect would be nice.

Sandsmere, I am in NQ and yes I have been flooded and flattened by cyclones so I think I know the go.
I've lived in SA, FNQ, NSW and now Capricornia. Been through bushfire, cyclone and now flood, and still going strong. But I would never dismiss someone's fears as boring boring boring.

Glad to hear from you Doglady, several people expressed concern that you were in a flood area and we hadnt heard how you were getting on. I'm really sorry its been so bad, do you still have your campervan?
Hi Doglady. I was one who expressed concern too. Sorry to hear it was so bad for you, I would never dismiss any of it as boring. Its hell of a thing to be washed out like that. biggenden got cut off on all 3 roads in but nothing to worry about here. How are things going now, all the best to you and your family.
Cyclones are a pest! Do I pull the boat out or is the blow going to pass- they are unpredictable buggers.Should have stayed down on the south coast another month or so, but they followed me down there!.If you need rain, I will come to your place, C O D .Bill, also known as the rain man.
Due to the thin skin of some of the participants on these forums I will not bother with any further posts. Had some of you people read other of my posts before going into your " feel sorry for me mode " you would have , maybe, realised I was not having a crack at someones misfortune but trying to make fun of the prophets of this world.
Sorry to hear that Dingojim. I didn't comment on your post as I felt no need to. Don't be so thin skinned yourself that you feel you can't comment anymore. You are always welcome.
Update - Cyclone Tim is about 500klms NE of T ownsville , and is degenerating into a cat1 cylcone, and then a rain depression by early next week, and then turn towards the coast between Cardwell and Mackay. Lots of rain and some wind. I hope someone gets some good out of it.I will probably pull the boat out on monday or tuesday, depending on what Tim does. Stand by for future developments. Bill

Hi all and thanks for your concern. I've been off-line a while since the floods and only just realised that so many people even know of me and my whereabouts! My house escaped inundation by a whisker, but I've had "refugees" living in while their house is made liveable again. I wouldn't have believed the amount of water if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes. The attached pictures are taken from my front deck, one the normal outlook and one the flood. And there's a downhill slope for about a kilometre from here. Pity the newspaper's aerial photos were taken after most of the water had drained away!

PS. my camper is fine, being packed now and I hit the road Tuesday. The refugees (family) expect to be back in their own home by the time I get back in May.
