RE: Wuruma Dam Qld Get together 3rd week in April

My Pictures. 220.jpgArrrivedhome late this afternoon, after a most enjoyable time at Wuruma Dam.  Happy Wanderer, Cruisin Cruze, Old Boar, Rover, and Moose Barter are still there.  It's a lovely quiet place, and it would be very easy to stay for months at a time if one could.

Cheers,

Sheba.

Well I'm sticking to my plan - I've started getting the van ready but, boy!, is it hard! Even promised myself that if I finish in time I'll leave today!

The van looks very unloved after so long and already one hatch winder has given up on me.

Back to it!

Peter

You and me both!

But I'm going well although I'm realising just what a great amount Shona used to do!

Just pausing for a morning coffee then off to the supermarket.

Well I tried! Got as far as Gayndar. Feeling very isolated - not sure I'll push on to Wuruma Dam tomorrow - very lonely trip - maybe the Open Road is not for me after all.

Don't feel defeated Peter. Just take your time, stop along the way and breath in that lovely fresh air, and you'll find some wonderful new friends waiting for you at Wuruma. smile

Thanks for the encouragement.

It's a beautiful morning here in Gayndah - van's totally disorganised after my rush to leave yesterday.

Will take some time to get things in order.

Feeling more positive - will continue the journey - as Shona always used to say "What have I got to lose?"

Thanks again ... Peter

True Peter - she probably did give you a kick in the pants - and you have nothing to lose, and lots to gain - new friendships and a great deal of satisfaction knowing you can do it on your own - been there, done that!!!

Enjoy yourself!!

Still here , no storm last night so feeling much morepositive ... Manu agrees!

Only downside is having to use this wretched iPad to communicate!

But now you are out there Peter, you will start to feel rejuvenated and positive - believe me, I know this for a fact. Take care, and enjoy your time out there, wish we were there, but we are at least back in beautiful Queensland!!!

Back home now.

Many thanks to all the folk who encouraged me to take this first step.

Very mixed feelngs now that I'm back home - considering lots of options.

Must admit my cozy little home feels pretty good right now!

You've had a good learning experience Peter, so have a good think, talk to people and see what sparks your interest. There are so many options. If you enjoyed it overall, think about how you can make it easier/more comfy or whatever you feel is needed.

smile
