useful and versatile

Sounds great ..  If we are not careful it may replace the milk crate as the most useful camping item.

Can we have a picture please?

Our most useful piece of camping equipment would have to be our old sturdy metal ironing board .It is completely collapsible and easy to erect, very compact sturdy and non breakable, dosn't mind getting wet and a great conversation piece. Can be used for food preparation and serving ,washing up and draining , portable gas burner table , fish scaling, gutting fish and filleting table, coffee table, when lowered, foot stoool when lowered ,clothes airer, even could be used for baby chande table, seat or table for small children or even for ironing (heaven forbid ).Mny of our camping friends now are serching op shops for the humble old ironing board. They maybe other usees for it ,but still to find that out.

I was going to ask "What is an ironing board" but after reading all the uses I wish I had kept mine instead of giving it away when I left Echuca.
I don't think there would be room in the van for one anyway.

Takes no room up with folded down ,just pop it on the floor when travelling ,and as soon as you stop and want to set up camp get it out of vehicle .If for some reason you do not need to use it when you stop just pop it under neath the vehicle.

And you could leave it out at night because NOBODY would steal an ironing board !!!

Have seen this done before, specially for the fish cleaning & even used on myself.

One good setup had a large nylon cutting board screwed onto one end, this served for filliting fish while the other end was for the cleaning, could apply to many other uses.

Went to the op shops in Childers today. Didn't find an ironing board but did buy a camera tripod for 5.00, a handbag 5.00 and a pr of 3/4 white pants for 1.00. Not too bad a purchase for just 11.00

Let me know if you want one Marj.  Plenty in the Op-shops in Rocky at the moment.  I could bring it down in April.

Cheers,

Sheba.

No thats fine Sheba. I don't think I would have the room for it anyway. The portable solar panels and all the other bits and pieces take up any spare room.
