Final 24 hours in Tassy!!!

off phone 308.jpg

Billieeee with a couple of his followers,  or is that the garden path they are venturing up?

Bon voyage Jules and Billieeee, has been a great adventure for us in Yolla as well, thank you for your friendship daily invitations.

Have learn't a lot from you guys who have been on the road, so that when we start out hopefully we will make fewer mistakes than perhaps we would have. Rhonda says give John a hug when you catch up, (don't know what that is about)

Will keep in touch and will catch up some where in May, June, July when we are on the big island.

Bob & Rhonda

Well - we are in our last 24 hours here in Tasmania.  We have had the most amazing four months travelling over here - done over 6,000k's - stayed in only four paid caravan parks - the rest either free camps, donation camps or national parks.

Free camping over here is amazing - and the locals utilise them to great advantage - at some of them, right on the most beautiful beaches in the world, you can stay for one month!!!!  Not many places on the mainland you can do that.  We have met some great people, locals and travellers from all over the world - formed some great ongoing friendships, and loved every minute of our trip.

Would recommend to anyone to come over - the ferry cost is worth it, you can save so much money in these beautiful free camps, you will pay for your fare.  But as it is pretty expensive to sail over, you need to be here for as long as you possible can - as I say we have been four months - could probably stay longer, spending more time in some places, but we have a bit of mainland fever - and want to see our families.

Some of the highlights have been the Yellow Boat Ride on Bruny Island, snow on Cradle Mountain, hang glider ride at the Tahune, beautiful Wineglass Bay, Port Arthur, and time spent at ****le Creek - the southernmost street in Australia!!!!!

We are currently in Deloraine at a free motorhome camp, with dump point and water, within walking distance to the main street, which is full of great shops.

On the ferry tomorrow night - and back in Melbourne Saturday morning, will take some great memories with us!!

Head over guys - you will love it!!

Hi Jules, ditto to everything you have posted. Tasmania is simply stunning and the locals are great value.

Thanks for all the tips, they will all come in handy for the next 2 months here. Great catching up with you both.

Smooth sailing, safe and happy times with family and friends,

cheers,

ozi2

That photo of the three of us was on our 7 hour 40 minute walk to the South Cape, on the southern coast of Tasmania - some boardwalk, but mostly just track!!! Worth the walk definitely!

Had a great time with Bob and Rhonda (Florinhill) down there and on the whole trip we did with them!!!  Really enjoyed our time at the farm as well.
