I live in Wollongong. You wont find a caravan park close in Dapto. Are you wanting to free camp or stay a while? Fairy Meadow's Surf Leisure Resort is about 15-20km north of Dapto and can be pricey though it is nice and near a beach. There is a council caravan park at Corrimal which is only about 4 km further north of the Surf Leisure Resort but without as many facilities. You also have a caravan park in Windang which is harder to get to from Dapto probably about 15-20 following a road around Lake Illawarra. it is south east of Dapto and near lovely Windang Beach. There is another caravan park further south at Shellharbour. I think it is a council park. I haven't been there, so can't help you though I know one family that holiday there frequently over many years. It is also adjacent to the beach.

Mittagong is about 45 minutes away up & over the mountains. Berry is a beautiful country town full of charm, craft and niche shops as well as fabuolous eateries and coffee shops. It is probably 30 minutes south. Kiama is a nice coastal town boasting lovely beaches, it is about 15 -20 minutes south of Dapto.

Though there are no free camps, I can probably let you know where you are likely to find some 'quiet' areas just out of Dapto but you'd only get to be there one night without suspicion as long as you are discreet & fully self sufficent.
