The GN Forum has almost 5,000 members with around 2,000 viewing in the past 24 hours - so the stats on the 'home page' suggest.
I have no idea how many of the 5,000 members are 'retired travellers' or how many of those 'retired travellers' are actually travelling, but I would suggest it would be the majority. Additionally, I have no idea how many of those 'retired travellers' regularly read this excellent forum.
Of those that are travelling, either part-time, full-time or occasionally, very few put their every move on the forum. However, those that do, make it an interesting and often informative forum.
That notwithstanding, I am constantly bemused by the accolades heaped upon the few who do share their travels.
I would just like to say 'well done' to ALL those who are out in the playground whether you post your every move on the forum or not.
Cheers - John

Well said John, I agree 100% mate. Even though I am only part time I get out in the playground as much as possible. I read and learn a lot from this forum and it's members and I contribute as well.

I drove into Childers today, I would have passed at least a dozen nomads (campervans, cars with caravans etc) on my way there and back. Plus while in Childers at least couple of dozen or more, could have been 30 to 40 went through town that I saw in the 3 hours or so I was there. There are far more people on the road doing what we are doing than we will ever realise.
I camp regularly in south east corner of Qld, dams, council reserves, national parks & caravan parks. I often ask campers if they look at "The Grey Nomads" site. I haven't met anyone yet that does. I guess that means there must be one hell of a lot more than 5000 RV users out there.
Enjoy your camping, how ever or where ever you do it.
I am heading West in the next couple of weeks with a fellow nomadder (met through this Forum) I will try and post photos etc of our journey as we progress.
Having coffee up town this morning and a chap sat down at the next table. He is a grey nomad in a large bus staying at the caravan park. He didn't know about this site either so wrote down the details. Welcome Merv when you join.
