Companion.

Hi again, all,

I posted the following thoughts as a reply to Troopie49, and then realised that I should have done it as a 'New posting'.No offence intended, Troopie49, if you read this, but as a general posting I wil, obviously, reach more eyes. You are of course, most welcome to reply to my response to your message. I note that you are in WA, or should be close. Maybe we can cath up and test the waters? Might be a bit steamy up north in the middle of summer,

Anyway, I've been trying to get on the road for ages. Everytime I manage to saddle up, some crisis sticks up its ugly snout, after a week or two. All seems clear on the horizon now, however, and I should be able to get away for a proper trip soon. As mentioned, I have found, even on my short sojourns, thus far, that, at times, it would have been nice to share some experiences and enjoy some civilised interaction, with, especially, a member of the opposite sex and of similar mind and disposition i.e. travelling, camping, Grey Nomading. I have a (small, 13') van. We could  schedule our respective itineries so as to meet up regularly or irregularly and, should we prove to be compatible, even travel in tandem, on and off, for longer/shorter trips, as we decide, in concert, from time to time.

I'm not suggesting that you or I, should sacrifice any independence but rather that, together, we could enhance the experience as a whole. If that does not follow, we part friends, and go our separate merry ways.

I'm keen to hear from those of you who might have experimented along these lines, or simply have thoughts on the concept.

Go well,

Freddie47

Hey Freddie
I have a female friend in NZ and she is planning on coming to oz in August to do the solo grey nomad. She is anxious about finding work and being on her own. Have suggested she tags along with us for a bit and see how it goes. Maybe we will see you on the road sometime.
Cheers
Buddy

I'm much the same. I'm initially tagging along with Helen (Eureka) to Lightening Ridge then with Kim (Jillibeans) to Queensland. I'm not sure if I would have the confidence initially to just go off on my own but I won't guarantee it won't happen further down the track.

Hi Budddy,

Thanks, sounds good. Would be happy to meet and, as a newbie, share some initiation into Nomading with your friend.Whereabouts are you and where will your friend be meeting you and 'tagging'? Which state/territory, I mean.

Cheers,

Frederik
