Bought the Van!!

Well!! We got the new beast home!! Wow...she is bigger than I remember when we signed on the dotted line!!

It is starting to feel pretty real now!! Excited and yet nervous!!! ...oh..and a tad poorer!!!! Somehow I managed to spend another $1000 yesterday!!furious but I think the Hayman Reece towing thingie will make us feel safer on the road!!! And those wing mirrors are essential!! Oh...and the hoses!!confuse and a locking device to stop someone pinching our prize possession!!!!

God knows how I am going to recall all that stuff they told us about 12volt power and water heaters and how to work the dunny!!!confuse guess we have some reading to do!!!no

Posted some pics on the' new rig' part but here are a couple for the hell of it!! Cya all out there!!

Veeeeery nice! Home sweet home to be sure, to be sure. We're a bit like kids with their first cubby house, except theirs were cheaper. I'm going through the same process now, Buffy... trying to figure out ways to prevent my slide-on from becoming a slide-off. And forever finding things to spend more money on. But it's fun!

Very snazy there Buffy.

1. You never seem to stop spending, just don't keep tabs on it and you don't know then.

2. "Work the dunny".....just sit on on it mate, the dunny will do it's thing, mmm, as will you I spose, too much info me thinks :)

Enjoy your new home on wheels, and,

Goodonya Buffy, looks fantastic! When you start worrying about how much money you've spent, do what I do. Look up a cruise for 2 on a luxury ship, and then you realise some cruises can cost almost what you paid for your caravan, and you will still have it and use it long after the cruise would have ended.

I bet you guys felt the same as us in December last year.  Then became rather deflated as the simple things, mirrors, storage containers, dunny chemicals etc caused a further narrowing of the purse strings.  Isn't it amazing that when you take the plunge, you suddenly realize that the first time leaves a lot to be desired, your research my not have been the best, but then the learning curve thing kicks in and once you do it the first time, little things jog uour memory.  Looking forward to doing it the second time so I can iron out some more of the things I forgot about the first time!

Our van was second hand and came with a what to do and how to do list from the previous owners.  Best suggestion I have is to make a list for set up and pull down like we have, makes life easier until you get over the walk around from hell when the van is attached to the vehicle and you do the last walk around and realise you have left half the windows open!
