When I receive my Grey Nomad Times as I have today, I spend more time trying to guess who the Characters on the Road are than reading the whole newsletter.
There have been some I know by their username and/or have met, but the majority I have never heard of.
Isn't it great there are so many out there still to be discovered. Would it be too much to have their username as well as the real names or is it a no no.
What do others think.? I have no idea who todays couple are, sorry to you both.
Hi Happy Wanderer. I'm glad you enjoy the 'Characters of the Road' articles. Not all of those featured are regular forumites or even forum members at all. Many just enjoy visiting the main website or have subscribed to the Grey Nomad Times. I think you are right that it makes it more interesting to include forum names when applicable. I generally include them when 'characters' or letter writers include them in their correspndence, but will make more of an effort to do so in the future. It always adds something when you can 'recognise' those involved.
Yep I agree with Happy Wanderer (Marj) - same as putting a bit of a blurb on the biography section - just nice to know who you are talking to or reading about. Love the GN Times Cindy - good work!!
