Sebastian Recreation/Trotting track & Reserve

We were not that happy with the Showground in Bendigo so moved some 25kms north out of town to Sebastian. There used to be a little pub in town but it's struggled with business and closed. The rec ground itself is a little gem. Really quiet with a few trots coming along in the morning for exercise. Dogs are allowed but best on leash so as not to spook the horses and preserve this as an awesome free camp spot. There are flushing toilets, a BBQ and table and chairs and masses of room for big rigs. Theres also a little used BMX track and a basketball hoop. Sunrise and sunsets are blissfull. A short drive north is Raywood which has dubious fuel pumps and a pub which serves good food. It's an easy drive to Bendigo for supplies. Couldn't find anything on restrictions of stay. We stayed for three nights and loved the quiet, the wildlife and the awesome stars at night.
