Found it on another Forum finally thanks. Not very big, but supposed to stop your Cards from being Scanned ? while in your pocket or purse. Don't know if I've used the right word there. [Your credit cards etc., can be "read" by a machine near you, while they're still in your Purse/pocket.] Apparently the Aluminium can block that.
Cheers,
Sheba.

Don't remember where I saw a Post regarding Aluma Wallets being sold on E-bay last night. $4.95 ea. Can some-one let me know if they've seen it and where please ? If you send for them from the TV Ads, they're $49.95, plus $9.95 postage.
Told a friend about them, and now I can't find it.
well you tube doesn't have a lot of positive info on the wallet, " http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sdJ7AvghS7s " and you could consider this " http://aluma-wallet.pissedconsumer.com/ ". As always it's the buyers choice.
We just used Alumin foil doubled over our cards in wallet..when we was travelling o/s last year. That is really all those wallets have inside them. Most people in USA just use as we did. Working with a lot of people from Texas at the moment here in Aus and they still use the foil. Maybe we are to trusting being back home as we have not used it since returning. But i guess we should re use it. Better to be safe than sorry ..hope this maybe of some help Sheba.
Thanks herbie. Should have thought of that. I remember when we came home from Canada in the '60s', my ex. had bought a Starting Pistol to bring home. That got through wrapped in Alfoil inside another box in the luggage. Not that he had it long. It was stolen a couple of weeks after we got back.
If you want one there are many for sale on Ebay just do a search on Ebay for Aluma wallets and you come up with 419 results, but I think they are just another snake oil product. If it was as easy to read the cards as this, the banks would be supplying some form of protective wallet when they supply your cards. Cheers David
I was told that the Mylar bags you get electronic equipment in. The sort of thing they send your Toll tags in will block any RDFS scanners. It works for the tags.I was told by the tag company when towing my car behind the motorhome to keep the car's tag in the Mylar bag it was sent in, so I don't get pinged twice.
I would imagine if you asked nicely at a computer store they would give you a bag for free. They get motherboards,Ram all sorts in them so plenty around.
has anyone seen this http://youtube.googleapis.com/v/lLAFhTjsQHw%26sns=em
This is quite an old report and the technology has move on since then, it is not as easy as shown in that video to read the RFID chip that is on the card and the info garnered then is no longer available now, there is also a rolling check number that is generated for each transaction, so this is something that will probably never happen to you, so stop worrying.
