G'day Scotty, we have had ours for a couple of years now and you will find it one of the most versatile bits of kit around. The only problem I find is keeping it clean, maybe I'm a bit finicky, but I now line the bottom of the Q under the burner with foil with a hole in it to allow the fat and gooblies to run into the tray underneath. After a month or two just throw the foil in the bin and start again. Reduces the chance of a fat fire and what does get through onto the shell is easier to clean off.

I'm with both of you. Wonderful little thing. I use it all the time at home and just throw it in the car for camping as well. It's my grill, oven, have even just heated water on it when I needed to. Love it. No cooking smells in the van then. I love bar b q anything mind you. The only thing I have not cooked yet is pizza but will do soon now I have those easy base recipes.

Thanks for the welcome NeilnRuth, been looking around getting an impression of the topics in the various forums and what I can contribute.

Evie n Rhys - you can't beat pizza from a Q and if you organise things in advance they are really fast as well.

The secret is to let the Q and pizza stone get well and truly hot. The pizza dough I like is one I pinched from a campertrailer cooking guru:

2 2/3 cups lukewarm water
1/3 cup good virgin olive oil
1 tablespoon dried yeast
1 tablespoon salt
3 cups semolina flour
3 1/4 cups plain flour

Mix it up then let it rest until it nearly doubles in size, punch it down and put in the fridge for a day .
Makes the best crispy pizza dough, travels really well in the caravan/camper fridge and lasts a week or so if you don't use it all up at once.

Cheers

Griff

If you ever get lazy as I often do, and like crispy pizza base, just use Lebanese bread. Makes a good pizza for one.

If we are lazy and don't feel like making a genuin base, we use pita bread.
