We will be in SA next year.

We are planning to be in SA for about 8 months this year leaving Melb about the early April. We spent some time in SA a couple of years ago around the Limestone coast area. We free camp mostly but use CP from  time to time as needed. Now comes the ask, we realized that we know very little about this state, so if you have been to a place in SA that really worked for you we would love to be able to share that experience as well. Please leave your input on this forum or if it suits just PM If that suits you better.

Thanking you in advance for your input to our journey.smilesmilesmilesmile

Spent 2 weeks in the Flinders in sept 2011, we based ourselves at Rawnsley Park. Can highly recommend it as a place to stay. We probably would have stayed longer but the boss broke her leg and we had to come back home early.the area is probably my pick of the country( but haven't been to the Kimberley's yet)

Burra - really nice little town with an interesting history beautifully presented. There is a CP in town but better to stay at the showground.

Hi Brian and Cheryl,

Burra Creek Gorge is a beautiful free camp spot with toilets, also free camp, with toilets, at Langhorne Creek called Frank Potts Reserve right in the middle of lovely wineries. Get in touch when you come through this way as I am in Strathalbyn at the top of the Fleurieu Peninsula.
