Motorhome Service

I have the motorcar part of my motorhome serviced by Toyota, but can someone tell me what type of business would do an all inclusive service on the 'caravan' part.  I see places listed that service caravans, but not sure if that includes motorhomes.  I have a Suncamper Sherwood which is due for service in June. The 'caravan' part is under warranty for three years, conditional upon it being serviced every twelve months.  I assume a service would include a structural check, water tanks, electrics, etc, as well as water pump and hot water service.

Even if a standard service doesn't cover all those items, I would be happy to pay for a full, comprehensive service.  Being a solo lady traveller, for peace of mind when travelling in isolated areas I think it would be well worth the cost involved.

What do other motorhomers do to maintain their vehicles.

Check your service book for the manufactures service locations, as the Motor-home is still under warranty it may have to be serviced by on of the dealerships.

i.e. Sunliner and Winnibago Motor-homes and Millard Caravans have to be serviced by dealerships so as not to void their warranty.(As an example)

Janno - I have the same question. The Coaster mechanicals have just been serviced by Toyota, but I am wondering about the stuff you list.

We used to get the caravan properly serviced and checked every year, so I don't want to let the motorhome items go unchecked. It was a professional conversion, but done ten years ago.

I'd really like some ideas too - preferably the eastern side of Melbourne. Or even somewhere in country Vic.

I find it hard to understand what else needs to be serviced once you have had the mechanical side of the MH serviced all the other bits of the MH either work or they don't and when they stop working you get them fixed, to me it would appear that money is paid out getting things checked that don't need checking.
If you regard the fittings in your MH the same as the fittings in your house you don't get someone to come in once a year to check the fridge, washing machine, TV, HWS etc so why the need in a MH.
Cheers
David
